Panorama of the Beskid Moutains – New Opportunities for Tourists
Although the weather does not encourage to go hiking, the staff members of the Project Life+ Beskidy wish to invite the locals and the enthusiasts of mountains to visit the newly-constructed vantage points.
The vantage points have been constructed within the scope of the activity C.7. ‘Construction of Tourist Infrastructure’ at the two picturesque and tourist-friendly spots: in the Silesian Beskid Mountains and in the Żywiecki Beskid Mountains on the Duży Rachowiec Hill near Zwardoń.
The vantage points also fulfil an important function because they constitute focal points for the tourist traffic as well as give the possibility of large-range monitoring of the Project area in terms of wildlife and landscape as well as fire-fighting.
The vantage point on the Stary Groń Hill is 12 meters high. Its wooden structure matches the landscape enjoyed and used by the local residents. The three-level vantage point has the form of a quadrangular prism on the square plan and the interior encompasses the staircase and the vantage points. The construction has a bitumen-backed shingle hip roof.
The vantage point on the Duży Rachowiec Hill is approximately 7 meters high. It has been erected on a rectangular plan and has a shingle pitched roof. The panorama seen from our vantage point encompasses the following summits: Wielka Racza, Rycerzowa, Bednoszka, Wielka, Muńcuł and also the slightly distant Mała Fatra.
Both vantage points constitute a fascinating tourist attraction. Moreover, they offer shelter in case of adverse weather conditions.
In the near future, the informational boards publicizing the Project and its Beneficiaries will be placed near the vantage points. The boards will also display some absorbing facts of wildlife that will fascinate even the youngest enthusiasts of hiking.
We wholeheartedly invite you to use the newly constructed vantage points. Nevertheless, please make sure that you leave the places in the state we would wish to see them in the future.
