The Kick-off Meeting for the Project Steering Committee
On 5th March 2014 in the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice in the Marble Room the kick-off meeting was held for the Project Steering Committee appointed within the framework of LIFE+ Project titled “Conservation of Non-forest Habitats in the Area of the Landscape Parks in the Beskid Mountains”.
During the meeting, Mr Kazimierz Karolczak – the Deputy Marshall for the Silesian Voivodeship, and the First Deputy Director for the Compound of Landscape Parks in the Silesian Voivodeship (ZPKWŚ), and Mr Michał Góral conferred the letters of appointment upon the Steering Committee Members.
Appointment of the Steering Committee will enable the representatives of the Scientific Community, local government, and stakeholder organisations to participate in the implementation of the Project. The Steering Committee will ensure supervision over respective actions, effective information exchange, and on-going discussions addressing outstanding issues as well as joint development of best practices. Furthermore, the Steering Committee will act in the capacity as an advisory body for the Project Manager within the framework of the Project implementation monitoring. The Committee will operate throughout the whole period of the Project implementation, that is until 31.12.2017.
The Committee will be presided over by the Presiding Board made up of the following members: prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Mirek, prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Wilczek, prof. dr hab. Andrzej Czylok, dr inż. Mirosław Grzyb, Radny Województwa Śląskiego Karol Węglarzy.
