The Steering Committee Meeting – the Summary of Activities Implemented in 2015

            The meeting of the Steering Committee convened within the Project took place on 14^th December 2015 in the office of the ZPKWŚ [Landscape Parks of Silesian Voivodeship] in Będzin. There were 25 participants.   

The objective of the meeting was to present the activities conducted to the extent of the Project in the year 2015, including the particular emphasis on environmental monitoring conducted by the company named Ośrodek Badań i Kontroli Środowiskowych [the Centre for Research and Environmental Control] based in Katowice. 

            The first part of the meeting encompassed the presentation of activities in the field of active nature conservation and the time limits, within which the works had been executed and would be continued. Particular attention was paid to activities undertaken in the year 2015, i.e. the removal of alpine sorrel and seeding of indigenous plant and grazing sheep. In addition the publicity-related activities within the framework of the Project, such as conducting educational workshops, organisation of events related to pasturing, publishing a series of articles in the ‘Gazeta Żywiecka’ monthly or printing and disseminating additional publicity materials, were performed for the Project purposes.

In the second part of the meeting Mr. Zbigniew Wilczek delivered the – presentation of the Centre for Research and Environmental Control [abbreviated name: OBiKŚ] on the results of environmental monitoring conducted in 2015.

During the discussion, the members of the Committee had the opportunity to submit their comments and present their remarks to the extent of implementation of the actions and ask for details of the Project.

            At the end of a successful year in the Project Life+ Beskidy, we wish you peace and serenity for the coming  Christmas time and the New Year 2016. We hope that the Project Life + Beskidy will be just as remarkably fruitful in the New Year, as it was in the previous year.
